ABOUT US
The Society was formed in 1923 and in 1998 celebrated its 75th Anniversary.
The Society is aimed at Referees in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
For the 2011-2012 season we will be meeting at Bournemouth Sports Club, otherwise known as Chapel Gate. The venue website is
Meetings are usually held on the last Thursday of each month and start at 7.30pm. Please see the Events Tab for up-to-date information regarding all meetings & social events.
We are members of the Referees Association and are affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association.
We have members who officiate on the local Bournemouth FA Saturday and Sunday Leagues, the Bournemouth Youth Leagues, the Sydenhams Wessex League, the Southern and Western Leagues right the way up to the Premiership !
Members are encouraged to come along and learn from other members advice and guidance. We are all here to help each other, even if you are not a member, you are welcome to come along and talk to our Secretary about joining.
Many of the top referees, including Howard Webb and Mike Riley, have put part of their success down to being active members of the Referees' Association (RA) and have received help & guidance along the way.
Come along to the meetings and gain knowledge, ask questions and above all learn in a supportive and constructive atmosphere.

Basic Referee Course in Bournemouth
Dear Colleagues
It has been some time since new courses have been run in the Bournemouth and surrounding area on behalf of the Hampshire FA and I thought it appropriate to let all you active referees know about it as I am sure some of you are aware of friends, colleagues or aging players who might like to take up the whistle. They are provisionally booked for 26th & 27th May at New Milton FC and 14th & 15th July Venue TBC
I would on behalf of the Local Area Referees Committee like to thank Reg for his input into getting this course off the ground in Bournemouth and our continued gratitude to Eric Trengove for his Stirling work undertaken in the East of the area.
