Match Referee Ray Rigby MBE takes charge of the Macclesfield and District FA Saturday Cup Final between Club AZ and Congleton Vale on Saturday 12th May 2007 along with Assistant Referees (left to right) Paul Heathcote and Vincent Rossi (MADRA Secretary). Peter Preston in the role of Fourth Official.     In Service Training Seminar   The Macclesfield & District FA's In Service Training Night was a great success with the visit of Cheshire County FA Referees' Training Officer Dave Welch who put of the session 'A Mock Discipline Commission'. Dave, aided by two colleagues from Crewe & District FA, Steve Pardoe and Danny Craig put on an excellent show piece that was both instructional and entertaining. Danny Craig gave a convincing display that any 'player' would be proud of and deserving of an 'Oscar'. However, he could not pull the wool over Commissioners Bill Wilson and Colin Garlick who had no alternative but to find the case 'proved' with Danny receiving a seven day suspension, a fine of £15.00 with £30.00 costs! The blow was softened though with a presentation made by MADRA Secretary Vincent Rossi who presented each member of the Commission with a bottle of Merlot Veneto Italian wine!   Reminder to ALL Members!   Membership renewals were due 1st March 2007 please forward your remittance cheque for £15.00 made payable to Macclesfield & District Referees Associationand forward to the Secretary Vincent Rossi at your earliest convenience!

Welcome to the Macclesfield and District Referees Association Website Our District Association is based Macclesfield. The society area covers referees in Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Congleton and surrounding areas. Meetings are held at the Boar Hound Inn on the second Monday of the month. Meetings commence at 7.45pm prompt.All members and non-members are welcome. We usually have around fifty members each season from all standards of refereeing. We currently have members who officiate on the Nationwide Football League right up to the East Cheshire League and Macclesfield & District Sunday League. Macclesfield are a member of the Referees Association. Meetings, are informal social occasions where we discuss all aspects of football and refereeing over a chat and a drink. At meetings we have either a guest speaker or a discussion topic for the evening.
