We are members of the Referee's Association and are affiliated to the Essex County Football Association. We usually have around 100 members each season from all standards of refereeing. We currently have members who officiate on the Nationwide Football League, Conference, Ryman and Jewson Leagues. Thurrock Referees Society are a member of the Referees Association.
Meetings, are informal social occasions where we discuss all aspects of football and refereeing over a chat and a drink (a FREE buffet is provided). At meetings we have either a guest speaker or a discussion topic for the evening. The Society hold a number of social events over the course of the season. Recent events include Dinner Dances, Quiz Nights, Race Nights and visits to Romford Greyhound Racing. REMINDER to all referees: we are reminded of the danger of boots which have studs/blades which have become damaged and can cause danger to other players **carry out a pre match check is the ONLY way of covering ourselves from any liability / and whilst we are checking studs, check for jewellery**
A REMINDER TO ALL LOWER LEVEL REFEREES; we are still required to wear the traditional black for our games (unless it clashes with either kit, and the clubs have no alternative kit available!!).
