About the Society Welcome to the Tonbridge Branch web site. Our branch is based in Tonbridge, Kent. The society has currently thirty-four members who are Association Football referees based in Tonbridge and the immediate area. We are the local branch of the Kent Referee's Association.
A new season begins Both the Saturday and Sunday local Leagues are short of referees, especially the Tonbridge (Saturday) League so if you can help out please contact the relevant referee’s secretaries. Match fees are £20 and travel expenses can also be claimed. On Saturdays your contact is Danny Geary on 01622 790863 while Reg Mackelden is in charge of Sunday appointments and can be contacted on 01892 538047. Regular Meetings The first meeting of the new season will be held on Monday 19th September at the Tonbridge Royal British Legion club starting at 7.30. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month. The programme for the season’s meetings will be updated below as information is available. The Royal British Legion Club is 3 minutes walk from Tonbridge railway station. There is a large, free, car park opposite. Please push the door buzzer to gain entry. Meetings are held in the function room.
We are members of the Referee's Association and are affiliated to the Kent County Football Association. We currently have 35 members from all standards of refereeing, although mostly in junior football. We currently have many members who officiate on the Tonbridge and District League, West Kent Sunday League and minor boys (and girls) football. Tonbridge branch members are also members of the Kent Referees Association.
Meetings are a mixture of informal social occasions and formal business, where we discuss all aspects of football and refereeing over a chat and a drink but also deal with administration. At meetings we have either a guest speaker or a discussion topic for the evening. The Society holds a number of social events over the course of the season including a Christmas social evening and an end of season function. SUBSCRIPTIONS Referee misconduct reporting. The new style caution reports plus, if you have MS Excel, the standard sending off report, are available on the FA website here. Members are reminded that annual subscriptions were due on 1st April. If youdo not renew you are NOT insured for any games you cover after 1st April.Fees for 2005/2006 are £21 for adults and £11 for those under 18.
